Job Title: General Manager – Kelowna Paddle Centre

Pay Range: $65,000 – $80,000

Job Description: The Manager is responsible for implementing Board policy and strategic plans in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Kelowna Paddle Centre (KPC).  

About Us: The Kelowna Paddle Centre is a non-profit society operating in cooperation with the City of Kelowna to provide our community safe, accessible paddling sports for families, individuals and competitors. KPC offers: annual membership, drop-in paddles, public programs for non-members and youth summer camps.We have cultivated a rich history of paddling in the Okanagan and around the paddling world. KPC is on the cusp of significant growth and expansion in our community and beyond.  

About the Role:

Located on the shores of Lake Okanagan in the heart of the South Pandosy area, working at KPC allows you to enjoy the very best of the Okanagan seasons. You will be: supervising and maintaining a vibrant seasonal staff; developing membership and community relationships; overseeing the facility and equipment maintenance all while expanding the Centre’s growth and position in the world of paddling. About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in sports and/or recreational management    
  • Creative business development including: customer service, human resources, marketing, and entrepreneurship
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills   
  • Outdoor recreation safety and risk management
  • Event planning and social media engagement   
  • Computer knowledge and skills including Google Workspace
