OC6 High Performance Group


Goals:
  1. Increase strength and endurance through regular workouts.
  2. Develop proper technique through drills and on-water instruction.
  3. Develop and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
  4. Improve team communication and collaboration.
  5. Set and achieve performance goals. Utilize technology to analyze and improve technique and performance.
  6. Participate in local, regional, and national races.
  7. Foster a culture of respect and accountability.
Criteria:
  1. Be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the program.
  2. Be physically able to participate in the program’s activities.
  3. Have the necessary equipment to participate in the program’s activities.
  4. Have the necessary experience or knowledge of the stroke.
  5. Be able to follow instructions and take direction from the coach.
  6. Be able to work as part of a team.
  7. Be able to work cooperatively with teammates and coaches.
  8. Be willing to adhere to the program’s expectations.
  9. Be able to regularly attend all scheduled practices and events.
  10. Be respectful of others.
Expectations:
  1. Complete the High Performance Questionnaire.
  2. Track km/time paddled outside of regular practice times (Google Sheet)
  3. Paddle 3 – 4 times per week. Including a distance paddle of 9 km+ (OC1/ V1/ Surfski/ SUP)
  4. Attend at least 1 Interval session:
    • Performance Small Boat Practice (Mondays at 6:30 am) OR Beat Down (Wednesdays 7:00 am) OR 
    • Time Trial (Thursday evening) OR self Time Trial using GPS
  5. Work on technical analysis of your own stroke to understand your deficiencies.
  6. Be prepared to sit in any seat, be adaptable.
  7. Ready to take feedback from the coach, and have polite conversation to resolve conflicts.
