We have had an eventful weekend with races in North Vancouver and Penticton and some of our members from Kelowna Paddle Centre joined the races and came back with great results!
For Board the Fjord in North Vancouver held on 13th-14th May, our members came back with satisfying results. Greg Redman and Graeme Ramsey joined the 14km Male Surfski Race, placing 4th and 6th out of 27 racers. Kim Inglis placed 2nd in the 14km Female Surfski race and 5th in 14km Female Overall. And finally we have Tamlyn Böhm placing 1st in the 14km Female SUP 14’ and 6th in 14th Female Overall. Great results from our members who participated and worked hard for the races!

Some of our members also went to Duel in the Desert in Penticton over the same weekend on the 13th-14th and came back with great results as well. The KPC Ogopogo Wave Riders came 1st in the Female/Male Short Course Novice Unlimited race and 1st overall in the Short Course category along with KPC Novice Women coming in 4th in the same category. KPC Las Amigas and KPC Perfect Storm came 1st and 3rd overall in the Women’s/Mixed Masters, where both teams placed first in the Female Masters 40+ Unlimited race and Female Masters 50+ Unlimited race respectively. In the Men’s/Mixed Open Heat, KPC Prune Pickers and KPC Staff Infection came 2nd and 5th overall. KPC Prune Pickers came first in Male Masters 60+ Unlimited race and KPC Staff Infection came 2nd in Male Open Unlimited race.
For the Choose Your Weapon Duel Small Boat Races, we also have great results! Marianne Morgan and Tracey Sutton came 1st place Overall out of 46 places and in the 10 km Double Surfski Masters 40+ race. Dennis Silvestrone and Sheila Strothers came 5th Overall and 2nd in the 10 km OC-2 Masters 60+ race. Tamlyn Böhm came 16th Overall and in the 10 km OC-1 Open race and Hugh Culver came 17th Overall and 3rd in the 10 km OC-1 Masters 60+ race.
